Jaci’s Lodges Madikwe

Everything in Africa bites, but the safari bug is worst of all.’ Brian Jackman, wildlife write.

Madikwe is definitely one of our favorite places to visit to experience the ultimate authentic African Safari, and the Jaci’s Lodges are always top of our list with such easy access via car or airplane a mere 3½-hour drive or an hour’s flight from Johannesburg. With unrivalled game-viewing, unique accommodation options, outstanding service and tailor-made safari activities this amazing lodge never stops producing 100% client satisfaction.

The gorgeous safari-style star bed suite is where you can drift off under the brilliant twinkling night sky or luxurious tented styled suites for that “Glamping Feel”. Or perhaps my personal favorite – the Jaci’s Tree Lodge. Where eight Treehouse Suites, custom-built on wooden stilts, connected by raised walkways, make me feel like I’ve stepped out of the pages of the Swiss Family Robinson book. Tree Houses built high above the group combined with 5 star luxuries.

While Madikwe Game Reserve is world renowned as a spectacular Big 5 safari destination, Jaci’s Lodges really do offer exceptional safari activities. Twice-daily game drives with expertly trained guides, who can show you anything from the smallest Dung-Beatle to the largest of Elephants, and of course the possibility of seeing the Big 5 (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino), as well as cheetah, African wild dog, hyena, giraffe and hippo – all sightings for which Madikwe is famous.

They have this epic submerged Terrapin Hide in the middle of a waterhole where you can literally view animals from eye-level while they come down to drink form the waterhole and generally splash about. So close you are that you can in fact get splashed yourself. It is this hide, with its access via a submerged tunnel that has established Jaci’s Lodges as a premium photographic safari destination. Daily specialized photographic safari drives with an on property professional photographer are now too amongst the favourite activities on offer for amateur snappers and photographic professionals alike.

Dinner is always a feast fit for a king where a variety of South African-inspired, fire-cooked dishes will be served under the stars around a roaring camp fire.

You will leave Jaci’s Lodges with a smile on your face and feeling as though you are indeed part of the Jaci’s family!
